Welcome

2010 was a disappointing year for the 1st XI who were always in contention for the title and were top of the league with three weeks left. However the batting which had been variable throughout the season failed the last few games, resulting in the team finishing third.

Many individuals performed well including Anthony Woolley finishing a commendable 2nd in the league batting averages and James Chapman finishing 8th. John Jordison achieved the most wickets in the league for the club finishing 8th in the averages with Dan Weeldon close behind in 11th.

The 2nd XI had the honour of being the highest placed 2nd team in the league. It gave our up and coming players the opportunity to play in a high standard before playing in the extremely competitive premier league.

The 3rd XI in their first season on their new ground finished second in the league and was promoted to Division 6. They were well led by Neil McNamee who has stepped aside this season. John Rigby has taken over as captain of a team that is getting stronger and younger as the promising young players of last year are now the more accomplished young players of this year.

The 4th XI, which started with big hopes of competitive games and giving many 13, 14 and 15 year olds senior games, were bitterly disappointed with the state of the league that they were in. As a result they have joined a more organised Newark Club Cricket Alliance League and have great hopes, under the captaincy of Peter Trembling, for the coming season.

The juniors continue to flourish and there seems to be a number of talented players for the future. Our thanks go to everyone who gives up their time to help run and coach them

My thanks as chairman go to all who give up their time to support the club in whatever role be it coaching, catering, selling tickets, mending benches or just watching and cheering.
